From the gorge’s shadow to the sea’s embrace.

We begin with a scenic drive from Chania to Vrysses, where the Cretan countryside starts to whisper. After a quick village break and coffee at a traditional taverna in Imbros, we start our light trek into the breathtaking Imbros Gorge.

Winding between steep canyon walls and shaded by wild flora, this walk (1.5–2 hours, mostly downhill) is manageable for all fitness levels — but rich in raw beauty and ancient energy.

Emerging at the southern coast, we head straight to the remote beach of Fragokastello, where a Venetian fortress overlooks the Libyan Sea. Swim. Rest. Feel the silence. Then, we climb gently back up to Askifou Plateau for a well-earned Cretan lunch in the cool mountain air.
